2012 is shaping up to be a busy year for Emil with a handful of different projects including a new Holy Sons album…

First up is a collaboration with Grails production partner, Alex Hall, called Lilacs & Champagne. It’s a Madlib inspired creation which “tweaks hip-hop, tape-collage and the darkest creases of 70′s film-soundtracks with their lysergic and perverse style of head-music.” The self-titled album comes out January 31 on Mexican Summer. In other Grails related news, the band is planning to release some rare recordings and live tracks from around when the group changed its name (‘02)//Burden of Hope-era.

In March, we’ll hear a new Om record on Drag City. It was recorded in about 5 different studios over almost 2 years.
